This is our statemant of faith:
We believe:
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. (Psalms 111:10)
There is one God eternally existent, Yahweh, and one mediator between God and man, Yahshua the Messiah (Jesus the Christ). That Yahshua is God's only begotten son, who is the foundation of the kingdom of God and that all authority in heaven and up on Earth is given to Him.
That Yahshua was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary.
In Yahshua's sinless life, miracles, vicarious and atoning crucifixion and death through his shed blood. His entombment and bodily resurrection on the third day. His ascension into Heaven where He reigns at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty, and in Yahshua's return in power and glory.
That man is created in the image of God, but is born with sinful nature. That because of sin, all mankind is in rebellion against God. That salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary. That man's only hope for redemption is through the atonement made by the Messiah. That salvation is by grace through faith and that faith without works is dead. In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by indwelling the Christian believer is enabled to live a more godly life.
We believe in the spiritual unity of all true believers in our Saviour and Lord, Yahshua the Messiah.
The Bible is our tool to be used to facilitate out thirst for knowledge that we may learn what we seek in earnest of our Creator, Savior, creation, history, and His Will. We accept its teachings as the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
Note: Since Jesus refrained from such labeling "Catholic,""Protestant,"" Baptist," etc in scripture in reference to his faith, our family has been unwilling to adhere to any particular label of Christian faith as well. And, since we believe that labels tend to inhibit spiritual growth, we prefer to remain "non-denominational."

Hey guys,

Yeah, I didn't know Josiah had a blog... funny.
Hey Jo,
Yeah, I didn't think you posted that!
lol
I posted...
Please visit it!
It's a mater that really needs to be taken before God and prayed about. Thanks.
Interesting. I'm glad you posted this, Jo. I enjoyed reading it. Do you mind if I ask a couple questions?
The first question concerns this line: "In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by indwelling the Christian believer is enabled to live a more godly life."
I agree with that statement completely, but unless I'm mistaken, you've suggested that you believed otherwise in the past. For example, you have never capitalized "Holy Spirit" before now in my recollection, and you have always suggested that you believed the Holy Spirit to be no more than a feeling or motivation, not God's personal, indwelling Spirit. I am especially surprised by your use of the word "indwelling," considering I have always gotten the impression that you and your family do not consider the Holy Spirit capable of "indwelling," as you only considered it a feeling that could motivate a person. Have you perhaps changed your views on the Holy Spirit? The view you expressed in the line I quoted above suggest that you now have a far more accurate understanding of the Holy Spirit than you had before. I hope this is the case.
My second question is far less deep: Why, pray tell, do you refer to Jesus as "Yahshua"? I'm very curious.
I'm sure I had another question or so, but I can't think of what they might have been at the moment, so for now I'll leave you with the two I've given.
Your friend,
Austin
Hello everyone,
Unfortunatley I have promised myself that I would actually spend time on myspace this morning and I only have an hour and a half on here right now so it may be a few days before i get the time to answer both of Austins questions. (By the way Austin, I like getting questions. I thinnk it's awesome that you even think about that stuff. :) )
Heya Jo!
I'm lonely. =(
Make a blog or something like mine. lol
Kendra's going to be ringing my phone of the hook today because today is the day shes ungrounded. Haha.
Loves,
Daisy
Take your time, Jo. Actually I've been feeling guilty that I haven't been to your blog in a couple weeks to check if you answered the questions, but now that I can see you haven't answered them, I feel better!
Austin,
I'm glad you don't feel bad. Now I don't feel as bad either because I know that weren't checking my blog all the time waiting for an answer. My mother says that I can answer you right now as long I I don't take to long...
In the dictionary on this computer under Indwelling it reads:
"in•dwell \(')in-"dwel\ vb : to exist within as an activating spirit or force"
A spirit or something inside you that makes you want to be a certain way, is existing inside you. This is why she used the word "indwelling".
Now question #2:
Austin says,"Why, pray tell, do you refer to Jesus as "Yahshua"?"
My Answer:
In the original text of the bible he is referred to as Yahshua.
I hope this is what you were looking for. :)
Your friend,
Jo
Daisy,
I'm lonely, too. I have no friends that live around here that are home-schooled and will be able to spend time with me during this coming school season. And Lanna is most likely going to that private School... Call me! Even if we are only aloud to talk for ten minutes a day...
Don't take too much pity on me, I'll be okay. I'll have more time to read the bible. :)
I wish I could make a blog like yours but my mom doesn't like me to have to many blogs. I'll talk to you on HSB sometime. (and email)
Your BEST friend forever and ever,
Jo
Ohhh I see then, you're keeping this blog huh?! lol you would be better off to switch this blog into a blog like mine. We can still talk about religion on other peoples blogs, and somehow whatever you want to talk about you can comment onto other peoples posts.
Well catch ya later.
Need to read your other posts.
loves,
daisy
Now question #2:
Austin says,"Why, pray tell, do you refer to Jesus as "Yahshua"?"
My Answer:
In the original text of the bible he is referred to as Yahshua.
False. The New Testament was written in Greek, and Jesus is referred to as Iesous. This was the Greek translation of his Aramaic name, Yeshua, which was a contraction of an ancient Hebrew name, Yehoshua. There is no such Hebrew, Aramaic, or Greek name as Yahshua, and the New Testament was written in Greek with Jesus' name being rendered Iesous. Not only is His name not Yahshua, but there is in fact no such name as Yahshua at all. The Sacred Name movement invented it. And I wouldn't follow their example if I were you. They teach heresy.
No offence, of course. I'm sure you don't use the word for the same reason they do.
Austin,
If you'd like then we could call him Yehoshua. Thanks for sharing your opinion...
